Role

Community Manager

In 2019, I was honoured to work with Gruppo Jobel as their Community Manager for Asia division. My role was to coordinate purposeful events that foster cooperation and advocacy for the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals using tested artistic and performative instruments.

Gruppo Jobel is an international cultural organisation established 1997 in Rome, and is one of Italy's official National Art Residencies.

Through my work with them, I had a chance to visit their Residency in Rome, a wonderfully hand built structure in the middle of a forest near Rome that the founders bought with everything they had when they were young artists. I had an insider look into a life of performer artists, their inspiration, their philosophy of "Art for Earth" and their devotion for the sustainability of our people and planet. It was my first time meeting a costume tailor, eat a dancer's diet, walked a forest as if I was belonged, and talk about our roles as artists in the modern world.

I also had a chance to deliver a talk as a speaker in one of Gruppo Jobel's event in Rome. It was here that I spoke among artists and performers on stage for the first time in front of a public audience. It was incredible to see children and adults of all ages presented there to learn about the same topic. I never forget the moment after my talk, an Italian women came to speak to me. I needed help with translation from my colleague as she wasn't speaking English. But I always remember how she always look directly at me. She told me without hearing from me, she would have never known about the stories that I've shared. And somehow that little moment made my long journey from Asia to Europe all worthwhile.

I worked with Gruppo Jobel for several other events where they performed at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok. With each and every performances they bring such joy and delight to the audience's experience. And to this date they're one of my biggest influence in pursuing art.
