I made this painting for a close friend of mine. Her father was a forest ranger, so she grew up watching the Bengal tigers. She’s so familiar with them that she never thought there are so few of them left in the world.

I hope she’ll also always carry a reminder that she’s a rare beauty and a true powerful being.

A recreation of Lucie Bilodeau’s “Spirits of the Forest”

I did this painting in early 2020. It was the beginning of the pandemic when there were only speculations about how things would go. Some of my friends said it’d go away in a few weeks. Turned out to be a long and expensive collective trauma for the whole world.

In those uncertain days I sat in my apartment in Jakarta, dreaming about spirits of the forests.

I have such admiration for the ocean. She holds great mysteries, possesses power of both creation and destruction, not to mention her charming and magnificent beauty. For us land creatures, we can only dream of what we might explore in her depth.

The sky can be purple and pink, as does its reflection on a small lake, with plants and trees in exotic colors.

There was no sketch for this piece. The painting was already there waiting for me. The brush simply borrowed my hands to go where it needed to be.

This is a practice piece that I recreated from a reference painting originally by Irina Dimcheva. I learn so much by studying other artists’ work and so inspired by their talents.

This is an oil piece I did in 2020 while in Covid lockdown in Bali. It’s one of the last paintings I did before I stopped painting for almost 2 years.

The painting is so personalised and incredibly thoughtful, it made my heart so full. This is amazingly well done and has me smiling ear to ear. I'll take the painting with me everywhere I go.
